Re: What is your next car?

I was told by a Volvo repair manager (and former Master mechanic) to avoid the P3 at all costs. He basically said they are junk. Now, having said that, there was a late version I believe that was sold with the 5 cylinder engine............ Neil. Do remember any specific things they said? I can tell...

Re: What is your next car?

I just quickly browse through P3 forum, not much traffic there, I wonder why? Epoch of DIY car repairs is largely gone. Young(er) people don't want to mess with cars anymore. Not even driving them. Cars are also much more complex, both in what they come equipped with, and how you access this or that.

Re: 2020 V60CC - 36K Tune up

It is now 40,000 miles; there is no dipstick to check the fluid level. The steps are similar to our 2001 V70XC, but it takes 10 Torx screws to remove the engine protective cover - the material has felt-rubber-fabric feel to it. The Torx screws into plastic retainer - be gentle, put away your impact....

This time the boot was completely separate whereas the first time it was just half way opened. It looks like whoever worked on it previously just wiped t...

Re: Exhaust manifold to catalytic converter nuts and studs rust welded

In addition when you have it all out and have a new gasket ready, try to use an abrasive brush or something which can smooth out and remove rust on the exhaust manifold flanges(both towards cat and head) so that a perfect seal is made with the gasket, otherwise you risk having an exhaust leak.

Re: 1998 S70 noise (m4a file attached)

I think it's a test cycle for the ABS - normal.

Re: Intro and how my 240 GL saved my life

the 240 is designed that the engine mounts sit on frame rails that direct the engine down under the cabin instead of through your knees.

Re: 1998 S70 noise (m4a file attached)

It could be the pump. Were the brakes operating ok before the fuses were pulled from the ABS? If the peddle is a little low or soft, there could be an air lock in the pump. It takes a pressure bleeder to really bleed the pump.
