Re: Car & Driver 1999 S80 test/review article from Jan 1999

Do the parts prices induce the aw-crap?

Matt - you could find yourself a 3rd world dictator 600 to cruise the streets of Denver.
But I’m partial to the early 70’s 4-headlight elegant sedans, from 6 cyl to diesels to smooth V8’s. Or the coupes, which seem very posh…

Re: Let's see your Volvo (The Photo Thread)

The "Longnose Elk", a 2006 Volvo V70 2.4 liter 5- cylinder gasoline (175 hp) manual transmission, that I purchased in December '24. It had only one pre-owner, who took good care of it. https://i.imgur.com/PQNZd1L.png https://i.imgur.com/5p2a6CB.png https://i.imgur.com/kjvb3LD.png https://i...

my trip to Skandix Germany

I decided to stop in at Skandix Germany for some parts for my 2001 xc70, they have moved location and have a big new factory just around the corner from the old place, a showroom with some nice old cars. Reality hit when i was told the volvo factory in Gothenburg no longer have parts for the 2001, i...

Yeah, not too sure I will get that lucky on the exhaust. If you think it would be fine as is with the 3" dp and cat you recommended I will run it that way. I despise droning and obnoxious burbles lol Yeah, the stock exhaust will be just fine, even with the performance downpipe. The biggest res...

No, they’re identical to the rest of the AWD rear bumpers, they just have a special (separate) trim piece (like the one in the right for the rest of the AWD cars) and no blanking plate on the left.

Installing a rear IPD sway bar ('04 XC70)

After I finished my front bar and took a mental break (and my wife took it on an uneventful 600 mile trip - fingers uncrossed), I tackled the rear bar. I followed the simple and seemingly self-explanatory IPD directions, but I had some trouble, and maybe those were written for several different cars...

Rob, that’s a real gem. Take this with a grain of salt, and don’t think you are sitting on a gold mine, but that’s a rare combo…

If you had a stick…..☺️

You guys/gals are going to get tired of all of my questions lol. I would like to replace the front and rear brakes, rotors and front soft brake lines. What do you recommend? The brakes currently work but rear brakes are thin and I would rather not risk failure of the soft lines on the road and star...

TY. These are the parts I already ordered. Some have made it here and some will be here this week. I think I pretty much followed your recommendation except maybe the upgrade jkit https://i.imgur.com/OUBtHff.png https://i.imgur.com/jU7SGiF.png https://i.imgur.com/n995WHd.png https://i.imgur.com/IaE0...
