Re: How do I test the rad fan on my 2007 XC 70?
start the engine and run the A/C , fan should run. If you have vida you can turn it on too. Before condeming it , check voltage at the plug, it should have 12v constant and a few volts on the violet wire for ECM switching. Were you driving or sitting idling when it over heated, I drove mine without ...

Re: Spoke to a retired couple with a XC60 yesterday...
Yesterday, the husband of an older couple (he is 82) dropped by. He wanted to ask my help and advice on what to do with his much loved 98 Toyota Camry. Only 110k miles on it, and owned from new. He has had it serviced or done work on it himself. He and his wife have newer Volvos and he has decided t...

Re: 98 V70 trailer
Hi! This will likely be my last little bit of trailer bits until I save up some money to get the steel and paint/primer for the new wall. Im worried the cold will move in before I can do any painting. And I must prime the new wall as soon as I put it up. I think you can guess where this is going. I ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Suspension was 10 years and 100k miles old. It was OE Volvo, with ~1" polyurethane puck above strut bearing and subframe shimmed by 5/8". Decided it's time to refresh it and get rid of pucks along the way. Ground to fender was 31-1/4" 4.jpg Used Bilstein B4 struts for XC90 and XC90 sp...

Re: Help chasing pulsing groaning sound
Solved! Despite the problems happening on right turns, after replacing driverside lca, bearings x2, and all tie rods and end links, I started looking for a new angle gear but replaced the passenger side front wheel bearing—and it drives like new again!

Re: Fuel Capacity V40 D2 2016
Do you have an AWD or a FWD car? We don't get that model over here, but most older Volvo AWD cars have what we call a saddle tank which is almost like 2 tanks. To be able to measure the fuel level the tank has 2 level sensors, one in each side. If one has failed, it could be the issue you are having...

Re: 2004 XC70: Next steps for turbocharger leak diagnosed by Volvo dealer
eesch, thats nothing, oil on the turbo is typical, almost normal. The book charge is $700 for labor to replace the turbo. A new Mitsubishi turbo costs $1369 for the complete kit, are they seriously charging $4K for labor? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-turbocharger-replacement-kit-mitsubishi...

Re: 2006 XC90 BCM Diagnostic Codes
I had a fault with the motor on my '09 BCM that caused an anti-skid message. VIDA read it as a "vacuum motor" fault. After a lot of research, I found a thread in here about the brushes in the BCM motor. I only had around 90k miles on it, at the time. I harvested a motor that looked similar...

Re: 99 S70GLT drivers door will not open
I was able to get the door open using techniques in 2 YT videos. I had to break the door panel, but it was already somewhat broken. This video goes at it from the inside: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EA3YSARDxcI This one from the outside, removing the door handle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
