Re: MVS Volvo Repair Help in your area - hands on help from a fellow MVS'er
I'm narrowing down to failing fuel pump. Rough idle and car stalls, no pressure in fuel rail when car is off. RobertDIY will be in Chicago in couple of weeks and we will tackle it.

Re: If only seats were L/R agnostic
Oh yeah. You can do zip ties but make sure you buy long ones or you will have achy breaky fingers , 8 inch aren’t too short

Re: Herman and Operation 30MPG
Okay. Small update. Well, Covid killed my job. So I've done less than 1000 miles since my last update. So that kinda sucks. But, I'm doing fine and I've switched focuses so that's all cool. I've had some time to start some "luxury" projects. I attempted to repair my failed headliner. Repai...

Re: July 2020 - M66 High Strength Collar Gears
A "high strength" collar gear will destroy the angle gear. I was very close to buying the last one but decided on genuine Volvo. I also looked at welding but decided against it.The angle gear splines were more damaged than the collar splines , I have proof of this. from my M58 gearbox whic...

Re: Short TCV hoses = Improved boost control
This solved my irregular boost problem. After installing a new TCV that I moved up and out of the hot area under the airbox with longer hoses in my 850R I noticed the car would overboost and not function correctly. After taking 18 inches out of the fresh air hose and almost a foot out of the wastega...

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge
MVS Readers, I was occasionally getting a code on the S80 related to the PremAir sensor on the radiator. https://www.media.volvocars.com/us/en-us/media/pressreleases/2310 Because the car wasn't being driven I decided to replace the sensor. How hard could it be? (keep reading to find the answer) Whil...

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge
MVS, Here is what I would do differently if I was to try this challenge again on a different P3 Volvo Purchase price ... Look for a lower priced P3 to allow for more budget for maintenance and repairs To keep cost down, I selected a front wheel drive, non Turbo charged vehicle and I would do that ag...

Re: Hole in my valve cover (not PCV) and oil leak
I am having trouble finding a good clear picture of that hole on a cam cover in its good working condition. For example here is is on a (presumably good) engine but we can't see it close up. hole.png I suspect, and I can't confirm this, that it's supposed to have some plug in there to prevent oil fr...
