Re: Banjo bolt delete?
I did it exactly as you describe. Brass nipple to bypass the coolant loop in the banjo bolt, still using the bolt for the PCV. It's effectively the setup from the factory before 99. I'm only a few thousand miles into this arrangement, so far so good. Just check the PCV every 25k instead of 50k and ...

Re: We reached Peak Boring in 2011
Unfortunately Volvo never offered a wide array of colors on one model including interior offerings. My second car the 78 Mercury Grand Marquis did come in lots of colors and lots of pictures of the various offerings were available online. So I selected pictures of the 78 to illustrate how color chan...

Re: Converting to LED bulbs
i used this guys but fine tuned it by using very small resistors to allow the bulb out feature to remain working. I also was not able to get the turn signals to work using this method, i did experiment with a variable resistor and could pinpoint the exact spot that triggered the fast flashing/normal...

Re: Financial Distress Parts Program
I recently changed the lug bolts on my 2001 (P2) V70 to lug studs and nuts. The Hex head is 19mm. The bolt length is 55mm from end to end. Please note that these were zinc coated, not chrome. There is some surface rust on the heads, and the bolts are a bit dirty with surface grease. That means I hav...

Re: Towing with an S60
Just made it back last night, and what an adventure it was. I was not counting on encountering such severe weather conditions, but unfortunately, it happened. The boat is longer, wider, and taller than the S60, which significantly increased drag. The Volvo sure felt the load, both with its heavy wei...

Re: Financial Distress Parts Program
Since I changed the wheel mounts to studs and lug nuts, I no longer need the factory lug wrench / pry bar. The Hex end is 19mm. Though the car is 20 years old, I don't think this has ever been used as it looks brand new.

Volvo S80 3.2 Right Eng Mounts Replaced 125k
I'm still tackling some of the easy Volvo S80 repairs and have replaced the Upper Right Torque Rod Engine mount and Right Eng Mount. I didn't have a lot of vibration and noise except that dealer told me I needed new wheel bearing and I thought I'd eliminate any other potential noise makers before ta...
