Re: DIY: 1998 Volvo S70 Timing Belt, WP, Cam Seals, SB Overhaul

Excellent write up! I finally did a full timing belt, water pump, cam seals, pulley/tensioner job at 159K on my '98 V70 NA in preparation for it being the teen's first car this spring. A few quick tips - if you don't have a serp belt tool, you can use a 3/4" drive adapter, $5 or less at Harbor ...

P80 How overbuilt are the Fuel filters 30671182 on our P80 ! Fuel filter autopsy

It’s hard not to eye roll at the ‘plugged fuel filter’ diagnosis. Unlike Uncle Joe’s era, gas stations sell a lot cleaner product than the past, and we rarely see fuel systems getting gunked up. This fuel filter came off a 1998 and ran 22 years and 180,000 miles, the fuel system was pristine inside ...

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread

Why Alfa Romeo was the badass sportscar of the 20s, 30s, and after WWII to 1951. Big aluminum twincam straight 8s with finned superchargers. Updraft Weber carburetors. Fast, innovative suspensions, good handling, good brakes, some had rear transaxles, all were stylish. Lightweight bodies by Zagato a...

Re: The Volvo conversion nobody asked for

This one has been around for a while, it's a diesel 740 iirc

It was featured in this 2011 music video (in which you can see the interior with its beautiful chains steering wheel  )

Re: Ordered iCarSoft V 2.0 Reader

I have it now. I haven't used it much yet, but it definitely can do way more than a standard code reader. It sees pretty much what you all are seeing with the DICE/VIDA units, but it cannot do things like upload software to the car. I didn't even know my V70 had a door module, let alone two of them!...

Here is a simple, DIY P80 cupholder mod I did...

I'm glad wrybread brought this up tonight. 1. I obtained a "folding drink holder". These can be found online and in many car parts stores. The tan I got closely, but not perfectly, matches the tan plastic in my 96 850. 5.jpg 2. I got some mending plates, I think these came from HD or Lowe'...
