Re: When it's time to move on (and what did you buy?)
- Hi wheelsup - Don't know your budget but here are a couple of nice ones from what I can tell. Two should have Carfax. Looking to replace a 2003 Lexus GS300. Hate to rid of it but it is too small as the back up car for driving my parents around. 2010 Volvo XC90 V8 https://www.amdautos.com/details/u...

Re: When it's time to move on (and what did you buy?)
What are your guys thoughts on the 2008+ V70's? Something like this? I drive very little so am tending to look for higher mileage cars due to the discount. https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-for-sale/listing/YV1982BWXA1124506/2010-volvo-v70/ Spent too many years in FL. Cars are much cheaper in FL as...

Re: 1995 850 How to TEST brake light switch on 850 wagon
On later models the pairs are normally open
1-2
3-4
When you remove the switch though, I believe it closes those contacts.
To nail this you need the 1995 version of this system.

Re: 1995 850 How to TEST brake light switch on 850 wagon

Engineering “convention” would be to s...

Yes, that’s a faulty switch. It is not reliably closing the contacts when in the On position

300,000 Thank Yous
Hello MVS, No need for help today. Just wanted to publicly pass along to Matt and everyone here that makes this site what it is: thank you. I was given this car by my dad who got it new in 2000. It had a fair amount of issues when I got it (parents were tired of the all the random problems) and as a...

Re: 1995 Volvo 850 Fuel pump and relay parts
Sounds like you have the right plan. Take your time screwing the cap back on over the pump; cross threading there could set things back. The pump seal on my '99 was folded under on one edge during the pump replacement by others, Robert mentions that is something he has found on a few of his rescues ...

Re: 210k timing belt service
Did you do the water pump last time around? Some may disagree, but Volvo recommends swapping the water pump every 2 TB changes. Also check the idler and tensioner bearings. Ensure the hydraulic tensioner unit is compressed slowly as per Volvo instructions. Look for leaks from the tensioner. While th...
