Are 1998 and 1999 TCUs the same? One runs Motronic 4.4 and a 99 runs ME7, pretty different …? No. 1999 is the CAN intro year and TCU also gets security matching starting that year. Auto Trans Cooler line IS suitable due to stiff construction. Fuel hose and other hoses at the auto stores are too soft.
