Re: Front Wheel Bearing Issue on a '94 940 Turbo Wagon

The balls must be pushed a short distance outward from the center of hub. The race that fell out controls the balls with the ridge you will see on it. When you insert race the balls go into the inner race and the ridge on outer race stops you from inserting it. Push the balls outward and insert the ...

Re: Volvo S60 weird "stall"

With engine running measure voltage between the post behind engine fuse box where the + cables join and a green wire at any one of the fuel injectors. Slide a paper clip wire or a pin into the rubber seal at the injector connector 5-7 mm and you will feel the metal terminal and can use this as probe...

Re: Volvo S60 weird "stall"

Voltage drop test. Digital voltmeter is best. Any power supply circuit using relays as the switch should have no more than 0.5 volts. Less is better. Relays have switch contacts and the metal contacts can get burnt surface that lessens the ability to flow current. The rely will often have soldered c...

Re: Alternator insanity

2005 and later need to have the the correct alternator with the LIN communicating voltage regulator or you get the message. The alternator charges but the ECM gets no response and that message shows. The alternators are identical between the 04 and older and 05 and newer.

Re: 1999 AC job. Rein over nissens, adjustable orfice valve

I have installed several VOVs in different vehicles. Maybe a dozen. On one vehicle it worked and is still installed. On many I had to remove and put the standard one in. On 4-5 it is still installed but the system didn't seem to be any colder. The original promise is that the VOV will fix the issue ...

Re: Wrong Size Rotors - 2004 S80 T6

I ran the VIN in current live VIDA. Nice car with 4C. The build brakes were 16 inch set. I don't think p2 S80 in US ever got 17 inch brakes. The 15 and 16 brakes use the same pad and caliper but the bracket for caliper is different. It moves the caliper outward few mm to get pad placement to edge of...

Re: brakes slowly self engage after 20 mins driving

Take wrench(es) that allow the master cylinder to be loosened up from the brake booster. When it does it, stop and loosen the master cylinder from booster 1-2mm from booster and see if the car now rolls easily. The brake booster is the leading cause of all wheel brake apply, especially on the car in...

Re: brakes slowly self engage after 20 mins driving

I've seen it many times on many makes. Loosening the master cylinder from booster is a test to see if brakes release. It is safe to do that and then put it in gear and see if it now rolls and coasts as normal. Just a test. If the booster is not working right then it needs to be replaced. I have only...
