Re: 850 Steering column question
When you have worked on your car, have you replaced any of the engine mounts with poly bushes? They transmit more vibration into the steering but make things feel more stiff. If you are feeling clunks then maybe there are worn components either in the steering, suspension or front sub-frame mounts. ...

Re: 850 Steering column question
Bump steer (which is what I think you're describing) can be caused by a number of things. Most commonly its a bad wheel alignment, or worn suspension components linked to toe-in and toe-out geometry. This is stuff like your control arms and track rod ends, as covered by Neil. Tyre size, yes and no i...

Re: 850 Hydraulic clutch Issue
There are known good and reputable aftermarket brands but there are also too much junk aftermarket brands.
Avoid everything you never heard about before.
Bendix ,Ate ,Sachs are excellent aftermarket brands, and in most cases, they are oem parts for most car makes including Volvo.

Re: 850 Steering column question
Check tie rods first, if thats okay then get an alignment. If you still have the issues after that then its time to consider subftame bushes. I wouldn't worry about them until you've rules out tie rods and alignment.
That should give you time to research the bushing reassembly, if you need to do it.

Re: P80 (-1998) Throttle Body Rod 3507883 Dicussion
This thread is everything That makes MVS great; a problem, multiple solutions, users helping each other out (Thanks Sonic), international intrigue, someone used ‘plethora’ correctly, Oxford commas, and semicolons.
I left off someone started a thread using a part number.

Re: 850 Tie rod Tie rod end
Our 1997 N/A steering rack, inner and outer tie rod were marked Volvo/TRW. All were replaced with TRW, relatively expensive than aftermarket.

Re: 850 Tie rod Tie rod end
In the UK market it was also TRW (and I'm lucky enough to be on my originals too for confirmation). I imagine the rest of the EU also received TRWs.

Re: 98 V70 Echoing Clunk in rear
Do you mean number 10 in Manov's image, sitting beneath the upper spring seat in the top left circle? The item pictured here? Nivomat (L) and standard (R)? If so, I have also had clunks from these loosening. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50404972648_3c09c1da7d_b.jpg That’s the part! The diagr...
