P80 8638452 What causes a window master switch to fail?
I decided to take apart a 'failed' master-switch from a 98 V70 to see if I could figure out why it failed. It is an overly complex design but other than possibly the mechanical wear on the sliders that move the positions of the 'contact fingers' there is no obvious reason they should fail. I can cle...

Re: 98 V70 manual trans clutch swap advice
Thanks for the advice guys. Much appreciated. Throw out bearing makes sense and although I have not owned a manual trans car for close to 20 years, the throw out bearing makes sense as a 'while you are in there' part. I have read the slave cylinder can be an issue. What tends to go wrong with them....

Re: 850 2.5L 20 V Rescue
I drove my V70 137,00 miles past the 105,000 mile timing belt interval. If the belt looks ok and there are no noises from the pulleys or water pump seepage, Drive it home and enjoy Chardonnay on the trip (I think that is your famous wine??) Promise Blue you will fix her when you get home. Be French ...

Re: 850 2.5L 20 V Rescue
good advice to just drive it home. You are more apt to make a mistake under pressure on the side of the road. You could take the one 12mm bolt that holds the cover off and look at the belt for a More relaxing trip. takes 3 minutes. as previously posted, if you have a water pump leak: that can seize ...

Pull the cover of the ECU box located in the passenger side, front corner of the engine compartment. Take a picture and post it here.

Re: 850 2.5L 20 V Rescue
The 2.5 20V should be B5254S, which has the LH 3.2 Jetronic. I don't think there was a 2.5 20V with Motronic 4.3 - the first ones were the 2.5T with Motronic 4.4. Some 1996 models probably has Motronic, but it'll be 4.4, not 4.3.
