Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Hello everyone! It's been awhile but I've something quite cool to share with you guys! The second of July, the biggest and very well-known car magazine of western Europe, AutoWeek, interviewed me and made a video about my S70. The videos/interviews are called "klokje rond", which we call i...

Re: Volvo 850 1995 Petrol

I don't believe the 850's have that detail as they only had a 7 digit number, in your case HHXHEUS. That is also an unusual format with no numbers. Most 850's as far as I know only had one brand of power steering rack. I just can't remember which. In 98, there were possibilities of 2 different racks...

Re: Volvo 850 1995 Petrol

The outer rod ends should be the same. You can also look at the end cap of your steering rack for the hexagonal fitting on the bottom to identify it

Hexagonal is SMI rack

Round cap is TRW rack

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I stripped and primed the tailgate. Ground off most of the paint using a 24 grit sanding disc. https://i.imgur.com/en03AZXh.jpeg I had the whole tailgate brushed with phosphoric acid jelly then I wrapped it in plastic wrap for a couple of hours, before a wash and final sanding and priming. Rolled it...

Re: Volvo 850 1995 Petrol Headliner

Hi Manov, I think your biggest challenge will be getting the sunroof trim off in one piece. I have never tried it, but from what I've heard it is almost certain that it will break. However I have also seen a couple of solutions for when that happens, including an aftermarket trim, and another model ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

A full suspension refresh is underway for my 850 wagon. I had a productive weekend and got half the garage cleaned out to make room for Scarlett. 20250917_143910.jpg She's sat there untouched for a year. I dropped a new battery in and she started right up. 20250917_161341.jpg Big order from FCP arri...

Re: Struts for 99 V700

Just don't use Monroe shocks. I would never fit them to any vehicle I own other than the XC70 with 4-C suspension as that is the OE supplier. You will likely be back replacing them within a year. Spend the money and buy a better quality part. Like all parts there will be those with opposing opinions...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

The 850 turned over 65,000 miles today and finished at 65215, a total of 255 miles through Glencoe. The weather started dry but it soon turned to a rather wet afternoon
