Re: Question 2003 S60 T5 motor swap
Rebuild the T5. It is either worn piston rings, or valve not closing fully, or both.

Re: 2007 XC70 (P2) - Excessive Vibrations Under Acceleration
I would also suggest to heat the LCA around the bushing up well, it will ease the removal. Heat it up again for installation. If a bew bushing was left in fridge overnight, the installation takes almost no effort.

Re: '02 V70 XC: Rear diff gears vs Haldex pump vs. What's next?
I don't mind FWD necessarily, I'm old enough to remember when FWD cars were a luxury for snowy areas as opposed to RWD cars. :-D XC converted to FWD is a very bad FWD. Nothing like a real FWD. In fact, it is worse than my RWD truck. I've read some folks manage to rebuild viscous couplers. It is bas...

Re: '02 V70 XC: Rear diff gears vs Haldex pump vs. What's next?
Yeah, today is Haldex pump, fluid and filter changing day for me. My new to me '07 XC had the Haldex pump die about a month ago. It's worth the effort for me to maintain this stuff, I wouldn't take the car into the mountains in the winter without it. BorgWarner pump/filter is a bit cheaper. Also Do...

Re: No heat in Vermont from 2003 xc70

The bad actuator will fail the max 40 steps inconsistency test. In this example it is the one with 4095 steps counted. 3.jpg Next you need to take th...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
After installing a new Volvo fuel filter I gave her a good scrubbing with dish soap. Now got her back in the garage to buff on polish and wax. It's 68f here in Southern TN now. Haha, it was 85F today in North Texas. Shorts and T shirts at Christmas is crazy. Was around 20F in MA, still shorts and T...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Replace both. Rear one can be PITA, but it is less critical than the front one.SOURDOUGHJIM wrote: ↑26 Dec 2025, 17:25 The car had 124k miles when I bought it. It now has 161k miles. I haven't touched the oxygen sensors. BTW, the light is on again.

Re: Vida CEM swapping
CEM-B was written by drug addicts, or maybe Indians with their left heels under a bush. This system shouldn't work at all. It's just one paranoia after another. One paranoia after another is called a defensive programming ;) It is pretty common in industries where software failure means injured or ...
