Re: Infamous ignition tumbler problem, now "Start Prevented Try Again"
Is it possible for the immobilizer chip for ignition to fail, and the lock/unlock still work? These are two separate circuits. Immobilizer chip is MegaMos Crypto ID48, the remote fob is I forgot what. ID48 rarely fails, but fails. The blank chip itself was like $2 last time I looked, but Volvo upch...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Today I got most of the small details completed on the Camshaft seal replacement and other maintenance on my 2001 V70 T5. I turn the key and it started with no new codes (just the normal evap system code). I am very proud. volvolugnut This happens every time you come prepared, pay attention to deta...

Re: Infamous ignition tumbler problem, now "Start Prevented Try Again"
VTL I’ve been thinking about your reply on the ’What did you do’ P2 thread. I wonder if a good solution is to glue the good key near the immobilizer and simply buy two valet keys and skip the $200+ each of programming. Could even maybe find a local to cut the key and keep the tumblers in place and ...

Re: DIY: 2005 XC90 Heater Core Replacement
Coolant is poisonous to breathe for prolonged periods. Bad heater core leaks. Heat core may become clogged in cars with poor maintenance discipline (no coolant replacement in decade - limestone circulates in the system and clogs small passages in heater core) or stop leak was used. Nissens has worse...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
Has anyone experienced a situation where the first three digits were different each time they tried to obtain their PIN? In my previous 2004 Volvo V50, the same device found the PIN in less than 10 minutes. In my current car, I have problems with it. Try Christian's one_pass branch, it works better...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
How do I find the correct shuffle order? Is there a way to do that? Find you CEM p/n in the source code, change last number in array (usually 0), try to crack, repeat. Confirm if I'm thinking correctly. Red - my CEM number. Yellow - I change the digit - I change the shuffle order of the PIN bytes. ...

Re: noisy blower fan
Looks like your sound system's volume level is not up to the task. I, for example, can't hear whining of the rear left wheel bearing (AGAIN???), not until spring.

Re: noisy blower fan
Cold if you lived most of your life in CA :D . Just when I start getting use to the heat or cold the season is over. I've also lost 20 lbs within perhaps 6 weeks 3 months back due to the cancer so I'm still skin and bones  . . Sorry to hear that, man... I send your way a virtual bread, beer ...
