Re: Vida CEM swapping

Teensy 4.0 (ARM Cortex-M7) is great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8GS_1SFgeg Had a couple of doubts that were oscilloscoped out. As a consequence, the code was completely rewritten. It technically can run on ESP32, but it won't work properly, because ESP32's single conditional jump command takes...

Re: Complete car rewiring with module delete possible?

CAN-bus is awesome and is a major improvement over inches thick wiring harnesses. Usually when you have a failure, it is a failure in the remaining analog parts - it is the analog sensor or its wiring. However, digital counterpart is usually able to diagnose it and raise a red flag, which you can re...

Re: Complete car rewiring with module delete possible?

Re: Complete car rewiring with module delete possible?

The terminology might be confusing. 1. Volvo has 2 CAN-buses, one is "high-speed" and another one is "low-speed". You see them referenced as CAN-H and CAN-L sometime. 2. CAN uses a differential signalling, which consists of two signals known as "high" and "low"...

Re: Complete car rewiring with module delete possible?

CAN-bus has 2 wires: high and low. Wikipedia has a pretty good article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN_bus CAN is a very smart solution invented for the automotive needs that solved way more existing problems than created new ones ;) In Volvo some modules are connected to one CAN-bus, while other...

Re: Complete car rewiring with module delete possible?

So it's the CAN-bus that allows VIDA to read/control/program everything in the car through DiCE? Is there a way to look at the raw data being transmitted to/from the car through either DiCE or VIDA? I'm assuming the data needs to be stored somewhere when connected to a laptop via DiCE in order for ...

Re: What is the normal duty cycle for the fuel pump ?

VIDA says 35% +/- a bit for a new pump. By 65% they almost certainly die. My pump is at ~50%, the car has 265k on the odo.
