Re: YIKES!! 15 Qts. of oil to get home tonight

So, got the timing belt cover off, front passenger tire off and sprayed brake clean everywhere and it appears that the leak is from the crankshaft seal. I see how to align the timing belt to the notches on the cover and making sure it aligns down below at the crankshaft. It looks straightforward to ...

Re: AW55-50SN woes-easy to repair?

OK job is done. Hole was drilled in bell housing. I used a syringe with 80ml fluid twice to backflush any large pieces back into my 8mm hole then drain out. First I went to 8mm hole then poked my skewer through then felt resistance. Pushed a little harder until something gave way......I suspect this...

Re: AW55-50SN woes-easy to repair?

I will check what configuration would be needed (and possibility of success) from observation of the bench transmission later. that said, off the top of my head, I think not due to required hard jog right to hit the screen.

Re: Vida CEM swapping

I found the key order and code on the P1 CEM. I will post the disassembly, but I ended up finding a function (as you described) that was comparing 6 bytes. A bunch of cmp, bne etc. Details: It is still BCD as with the P2 CEM. (so each pin byte is 0x00->0x99) It is located at ROM address 0xFBEF8 The ...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

Are you going to contribute a Gerber file to the project? What chips did you use? Looks like you are drawing power from Vusb. In the current schematic that is listed as an unknown. Can you confirm Vusb has significant power to run the assembly? for CAN I use max3051 (3.3V), powered direct from teen...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

I have been working off vtl's github experimenting on my 2005 XC90 V8. Finally got tired of the breadboard, wondering about crosstalk, EMI etc, so drew up his schematic in Eagle CAD and designed a PCB. Yes, I screwed up and called the project CIM cracker instead of CEM LOL I've attached a photo and ...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

A few seconds ago, i reflashed my config block of my P2 cem by my own bootloader. The main thing it worked but i don't know how secure. I also had many other things to do, so progress took some longer as i thought. Tomorrow i will build a loader by dice for it and the first fearless people can test ...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

I'm a bit late but had much different things to do and didn't come so far with a normal user "useful" software. My idea was and is to release a windows soft this week, which allows to change the parameters of the car, like having fog lights, having this, having that. Beyond each parameter ...

Re: ... another hard starting when hot thread

Just a brief update to say thanks for the guidance on this problem. Ordered the starter noted in the thread, it arrived very quickly. We got it installed yesterday with only the typical issue with contorting one self to blindly attach and clamp the intake hose to the throttle body and the car fired ...
