Re: [2004 V70] Awful passenger footwell leak, no grommet like XC70!

There is an upgrade to the dash water grommet on the 2004 and earlier P2 models, check your VIN at the dealer to see if your car has been done. The warranty period usually expires 10 years from the TSB date, but sometimes you can talk them out of the free parts. Unplug your sunroof drains with a sti...

Re: Seat Cushion Swap

As above, don't mess with your pass seat because of that weight/SRS sensor, rather get a bottom section and the spring base from the junk yard No for complete seat swap, just swap the bottom cushion complete with the foam, skin and spring base. You'll need a 2004-up seat. These are not too bad to sw...

Re: Engine reving when brake pedal is applied?

Sounds like you've got one heck of a leaking brake booster. Try disconnecting the vacuum hose from the booster and plug the hose. Then see if the problem persists. Be careful if you drive the car with the hose disconnected as you will have to apply MUCH MORE foot pressure on the pedal to stop.

Re: Broken Lumbar Support, Driver's Seat

For anyone who has this issue going forward, my lumbar support broke recently. I ended up purchasing a new lumbar system from my local volvo dealer for $65. I used the cables from the new system and installed them in the old one. The ends that connect to the seat are stainless loops instead of the c...

Re: 2007 V70 R

Okay, we can mark this one solved. I just have gotten the car back today. The gap between the front tires and the car is (at least) about two to three inches more than what it had been. I no longer experience a hard impact with every lip, dip, pothole and bump. What's more, I tried a new European ca...

Re: Thud when pressing accelerator

I recall instructions to have the car in drive (brake on, two people or e-brake?) when tightening the bolts for the upper engine mount so that it is 'pre-stressed'. This is supposed to reduce vibration through the mount and might help you. I am really surprised by the amount of movement in your mou...

P80 P2 late PCV banjo bolt tip 31325709

Remembered this from doing the 1999-on PCV You put the banjo on the fitting, with the two copper washers, then you put a sacrificial orings on the bolt to hold it together. Once you get the banjo started, snip the oring and pull it off. You can also snag the oring with a pick and pull it off until i...

Re: ETM Question

And everyone agrees, that I need to get a direct replacement or repair from XeMODeX or similar company. There is no salvaging one and plugging it into my car and having it operate? Odds of this working is 1/ e * pi/6 or about 19%. Proof I still left As an exercise for the student. [Controller Area ...

Re: Heater Core Hose Leak

Just wanted to update this topic with the Part Numbers Important to look at the Fitment section because there are several variations for the car model, engine, years etc I can't find the part number for the S60R and V60R (for the R engine, may want to call the Volvo dealer) Each hose is different: l...
