Re: Pierburg pulsation damper on fuel injector rail Volvo 855 GLT 1997
Fuel pressure damper is made by Pierburg and it is discontinued from Pierburg...and if i remember correctly...discontinued from Volvo too. I replaced mine few years ago with part from junkyard because it was leaking intermitently and had ocassionally fuel smell in the cabin. Here is the part#: IMG_2...

This setup is for M4.4 cars.
Damper on fuel rail instead of FPR and FPR is a lot smaller and it's moved at rear ...in fuel filter area.
S,v70 with M4.4 have the same setup.

Re: Help troubleshooting coolant temp and codes
The thermostat could be stuck open. I would replace it. Be careful of the bolts on the thermostat housing, they strip easily and can be difficult to remove.

Re: Help troubleshooting coolant temp and codes
AEG totally right about those bolts. Make sure they are clean and little tap "star" bit to "shake" the old bolt.
Until you will not correct your coolant temp issues, I would not warry about other codes

Re: Help troubleshooting coolant temp and codes
I would have gotten that wrong too. Everything pointed to a bad thermostat. Bad wiring is tougher to diagnose when it is just adding resistance vs an open, or a short

Re: 850 Heater Core PSA: potential for catastrophic coolant loss
Here’s a picture of early heater core seep on one of my 1999s, found during a hvac evaporator R/R I might have added 100 ml coolant every 6 months to this car? I think it is dated 2014 and we’ve added about 80k miles to that, estimated. I didn’t notice that the Al frame is lifted where it is seeping...

Poor quality valves
I ordered two replacement exhaust valves from FCP for the '96 turbo. Paid top price for the OE brand (AE). This is what I got. Not only do they not look anything like the stock valves with this deep dish, but even this old woodworkers eyes can see a major offset or lack of centering. I honestly woul...

Stripped AC drier threads taking hose 9171319 off
Had to put torch to it and a lot of muscle like others, but it finally came off stripping the old threads.
Now hose won't thread on new drier.
Any options other than buying new hose?

Re: Stripped AC drier threads taking hose off
There is a link in that thread about pushing 24 inches of socket extension from the left side of the engine ( driver side) and getting the internal m6 but firm;y into the screw that holds the suction line in. It’s tight but doable. If the internal hex strips, go to an external fluted screw extractor...

Got old hose off
Had to remove dipstick and used a shorter handle 3/8 socket wrench with a deep socket over it and an extension on the socket to get leverage. Because I opened the drier I got an Amazon suction hose that came the next day. Got that on put it on the vacuum for an hour, let it sit overnight and no leak...
