Re: Help identifying genuine 850R
I don't believe this is a genuine car. Way too many add on parts. Stance is also too high. R and T-5R did not have twin muffler tips. There were R cars in that color but I don't believe the T-5R came in that color. Can't see enough of the interior to tell if that is genuine. Does not look like it ha...

Re: Help identifying genuine 850R
This has also been posted over on S.S. and apparently solved.
It's an R and he's going to buy it.
Good call, in my opinion. I love the color !

Re: remove catalytic converter
Lots of people do it, but it is still illegal federally. I think I'd stick in a universal cat.

Re: low compression in cylinder #2 - should I attempt a ring job?
I hate open-ended (unresolved) problems, so I want to follow up and close this soap opera. I ended up completing the head job (removed all valves, lapped, put it all together). Against better advice here, I did not do the oil pan rings (since they would be as much work later), The motor runs about a...

Re: Wondering what to do? 1998 S70 blown head gasket
If the head gasket only leaks on the outside of the block I'd leave it as it is unless it leaks really badly. As long as water and oil don't mix, you should be fine. Are you sure it is the head gasket, though? I had a blown Turbo oil over the back of the engine like crazy and it was really hard to s...

Re: Wondering what to do? 1998 S70 blown head gasket
It all depends, like Clemens says, where on the engine the oil is leaking from. Cleaning off the oil and then seeing where it comes from when it starts leaking again helps localise the issue. Is it at the front (of the car), the rear of the block (by passenger compartment), LH end or RH end? All the...

Re: Multiple defective aftermarket heater cores
Do these not use 'O' rings on the pipe ends? If so it should not necessarily matter if the recess is not totally round. What is important is the 'O' ring gets compressed evenly as it is the faces that do the sealing. Having said that, what does the 'O' ring look like when in the hole? Does it touch ...

Re: Wondering what to do? 1998 S70 blown head gasket
Don't worry about the cams. You could always swap in NA cams if the Turbo cams really are shot. They will add some extra performance as a bonus.
