I changed mine about 2 years ago. I think it did make shifting nicer in winter.

I used Valvoline synthetic gear oil - its a pretty big odd size bolt - maybe a 21 or 22mm?

I either just threw mine out or I can chrck in morning.

Isn’t there also a fix of putting a drain hole in the pump to remove water?

Cleaner and water will smoke for a bit. Driving it will help dry it out.
