The 850 turned over 65,000 miles today and finished at 65215, a total of 255 miles through Glencoe. The weather started dry but it soon turned to a rather wet afternoon

Are 1998 and 1999 TCUs the same? One runs Motronic 4.4 and a 99 runs ME7, pretty different …? No. 1999 is the CAN intro year and TCU also gets security matching starting that year. No plug n play. 97 850 LPT and 98 LPT have interchangeable TCUs but 97 HPT are M4.3 with 98 HPT becoming M4.4. I remem...

My mechanic buddy gave me a good suggestion he uses when fitting a new filter. He wraps the end with painters masking tape to keep dirt out of the connector for future removals.
