Many thanks on resolution of P0442 code
Just wanted to let everyone that assisted me with their responses on my "P0442" check engine light code that I believe it is now fixed. You were all correct on the "J" hose replacement and thus far the CEL is still off. There was a splitting of the old hose right near the one end...

Re: HOW to replace an 850 Cooling Fan?
I don't think you'll have to take out the bottom two torq screws, just loosen them . The fan schroud is notched for these as locators. The top two will have to come out, if I remember correctly and they are pretty long 1" self tapping type. Try not to break the dipstick handle. Good luck

DIY: Make your own magnetic socket!
Sometimes you wish you have a magnetic socket to prevent dropping those intake manifold bolts down the engine? Sure, they sell inserts (magnet inserts), where you insert the magnet (surrounded by rubber) and it stays permanently inside the socket. Well, there is a much easier way... - Go to Harbor F...

Re: 2000 V70R Whining/Buzzing Noise in Engine Bay
Yeah, I'll have to poke around a little more and see if I can narrow it down.
But what's the point in describing problems if you can't throw some technical speak in there?

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!
Replaced Bosch spark plugs with Volvo spark plugs. Also threw on new wire loom and electrical tape on the entire IGN coil harness. The OEM loom was getting brittle and broken off in a few spots. Take note of the IGN coil pigtails. With the coil connectors facing in different directions it's not easy...

1998 V70 XC Turbo oil line gasket question 31251456
Okay, this may be a silly question. I'm replacing this turbo gasket, I ordered the Volvo one (Volvo 31251456), and one end is obviously longer than other, and protrudes a little. Am I supposed to trim this, or leave as is? The aftermarket ones, seem to be sized appropriately. It was a pain to access...

DIY 2004 V70 Sachs Quick Strut (FCPEuro)
My 2004 V70 2.5T with 110K struts are still OK but you can tell the springs are rusty and it is about 60% in terms of performance, not bad but time to replace them. Luckily FCPEuro sells the Sachs Quick Struts 033078 , which at $250 is very good. - Car drives very well now, especially when cornering...

Re: Need help with strange issue
Ok so a final update and thank you post. All my abnormal shaking/shuddering is now gone! She still has plenty of vibrations and a few rattles due to dash/speedo change and age but nothing abnormal. What worked was changing all mounts. A drain and fill trans fluid change. Did 7 total drain and fills ...

Affordable genuine FAG/SKF rear wheel bearings 30639877 (AWD P2's)
If I'm out of line here, just delete this post. I have nothing to do with the seller nor have anything to gain by posting this helpful tidbit, other than helping fellow Volvo geeks. Historically, I don't buy hard, high mile parts off ebay or the likes. Just so hard to find genuine/OEM stuff. Anyhow,...
