You can put a small floor jack or bottle jack under the tie rod end and apply pressure upwards. This will seat the tapered tie rod shaft into the spindle and prevent it from spinning, allowing you to remove/install the nut with an impact wrench.

Should have known you'd end up with a roundabout (circumferential) way to figure out the shortest distance across.

So this happened to me - intermittent starting, long cranking in my 2007 S60 2.5T. Shop in Vista, CA read the codes and called it a crank position sensor, replaced it (for $500!) and it worked ... for a few weeks. Moved out to Cincinnati, took it in to a local reputable place (Nordic Motors) and Bil...

Done and DONE! Took it for a hour drive zero trans codes or anything. Now to do the suspension, clean it and it’s road ready %100
