If that section is too large just cut a cross, so four slot, and that can help close the area tighter. Use a little material to wrap or seal any small opening that has exhaust seepage.

Parts to hoard for 1998-2000 S/V70?
Which parts should we be hoarding for our 1998-2000 S/V70 in anticipation of them going end of life? Which have short lifespans or common failures so would need replacing? Which must be bought new and which are perfectly fine from a junkyard? Also, which parts are "good to have on hand", e...

I'm thinking of adding motor mounts to the my list. By the time I actually purchased the nice ones they will probably be NLA and I'll be forced to buy some awful aftermarket brand.

This morning, I decided to clean the ETM from my ‘99 V70 XC parts car in the hope that it will work in the ‘00 V70.
Only after Abscate so graciously offered one he had on hand, did it dawn on me that I had harvested it from the V70 with a busted flywheel. Fingers crossed!

In the cases where semi generic hose parts are no longer available, you may be able to get the advice of a knowledgeable auto parts counter guy. A good one with gray hair may be able to advise what will be a good replacement. You will have to shop around to find a counter guy who knows more than how...
