Re: S60 Low Oil Pressure warning light
Success with the oil pan reseal. All the orings replaced were pretty hard. No bubbles now in the oil. With that and the oil pressure sensor (very easy to do if pan is off) I hope no further oil pressure issues. A note on this task for an 02 S60 2.4T. No steering lines to tie off like earlier models....

Re: Power steering rack brand opinions and experiences
Just got my rack for the '97 GLT back from United Power Steering in Detroit. https://turbochuckcom.ipage.com/webimages/projects/97%20Volvo%20855/2022/Steering/rebuitrack.jpg Sent it to them, had it back in about a week or so. Friendly enough on the phone, but pretty short and not really wanting to t...

Re: 2002 S60 high fuel pressure
The theory is you put a PEM-controlled pump into your older car that does not have a PEM. ECM tells the PEM how much load is required for the pump, PEM adjusts its PWM duty cycle, the pump develops fuel pressure accordingly. When PWM line is connected to constant +12V, the pump thinks 100% load is ...

Re: S60 2.0T - stalling and LTFT majorly out
So, to conclude the thread and hopefully provide some help to those with a similar issue in future... a new fuel pump seems to have solved it! STFT still bounces around a little but no more than my partner's Corolla of a similar age and mileage (always a great litmus test) plus it's not going to ext...

Re: Cause of intake cam seal leak?
- The early version of VVT design has the VVT Hub only on the Exhaust side. The Intake VVT was added later. This is bc the Exhaust camshaft does most of the work (such as "advanced or retarded" positions to control emission and engine power). FYI, when you rotate the VVT Hub all the way Cl...

Re: Cancer/illnesses, and caregiver, support thread
Thank you. She's taking the news the best she can. I'm not sure what'll happen when her kidneys do give up. I'm sure there's some kind of plan in place, but I won't know until that time comes. 95 is a nice long life, and I'm sure the decision he made wasn't easy. My mom is only 61, and with her othe...

Re: Cancer/illnesses, and caregiver, support thread
Big scare today. I woke up and my dad was slumped over in his recliner, almost unresponsive. Had an ambulance come out to check him out, and they took him to the hospital. When he got there he was barely breathing, and they had to give him Narcan to get him to wake up. Very scary. We now have Narcan...
