Re: Do S70 / V70 have under-engine plastic belly pan, splash guard, skid plate?

Should have said the front part Volvo calls an 'Air-Guide'. IPD lists it made by URO. It is one of the few items that they make that is worth paying for. Interestingly I put in mu 2000 V70R for the under-tray you linked and it says it does not fit it. Not sure why it would not fit an AWD P80 v's a F...

Re: Maintenance Log - An expensive and naive s70 rebuild - life lessons earned and the quest to make it worth it.

Which of your work items were the most worthwhile? In other words, which gave you the most improvement in gas mileage, ride quality, reliability, etc, perhaps with respect to their cost? This could be helpful information for anyone wanting to do a similar overhaul, helping people focus on the best ...

Re: Mold smell when I roll down front windows

Check the following: 1) Check all door drains are clear (no water sloshing in the doors) 2) Lift the carpets, fronts and rears. Don't just fell the surface as they have a rubber liner which may mean the tops fell dry but water has gathered under the carpets. 3) There are drains in the front of the c...

Re: Mold smell when I roll down front windows

Can the headliner be removed and replaced, allowing me to check for mold underneath? Yes and when you have it out you can strip and recover the headliner with new fabric. What do you mean by "strip and recover"? I assume the headliner is the fabric, so recovering it seems to mean replacin...

850 driver side window fix

Recently I tried to close the driver side window but as it rose it started tilting at an angle. I thought maybe the window guide must have come loose or broke again. Found out that one of the two brackets attached to the bottom of the glass came loose and dropped to the bottom of the door. The glass...

Re: What Brand of oil does everyone use on their P80 Volvo.

Yeah, things called synthetic in the USA are abysmal as maybe only 10% truly are by definition synthetic. This turned out 10x longer than I planned. :-) I fully admit that what is labeled as Synthetic isn't what people think it means. However, I don't think what is labeled as Synthetic are "ab...

Re: Compression test and spark plug questions

Cylinder #2 and #3 get the oil from the leaking filler cap seal or a loose or split PCV pipe to the head.

Re: Parts to hoard for 1998-2000 S/V70?

Good to have: I have harvested a bunch of the following from junkyards because they are so easy to get and are almost guaranteed to have been working when the jy car crashed or whatever. And I have used many of them in my P80 cars for both repairs and troubleshooting: Fuel pump - great to have a cou...
