Re: 2006 V70 NA 100k Should I do the water pump while at it ?

On Fcpeuro this seems to be your kit for the belt https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... em#fitment I think the Fcp have a glitch in their system, sometimes they don't show the 2.4 (or base) engine after 2005

Re: 01 V70 coolcant requirement and recommendation

As above, really don't see the idea with Zerex. Stay away from Prestone, I had it and it caused deposits. Volvo coolant concentrate sells for $25, mixed with 1 gallon of distilled water from Walmart ($2), it's under $30. Prestone you have to buy the 50/50 it gets even more expensive. Zerex concentra...

Re: 04 V70, N/A, serpentine belt, mystery to me

You cannot use a standard torx on a ratchet, it won't fit in there. I use the 14mm socket and ratchet but see what I mention in this video, I use a very thin head ratchet, a 3/8" Husky one that is only 12mm thick with a socket that is not too long either. I wonder if a 1/4" ratchet would b...

Re: S60 - Exhaust and front muffler

Perhaps see this discussion for OE replacement parts https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=86230 Look first for small holes in the cat itself, where the bracket is welded to the cat I bought a $250 downflex and cat for my 2003 NA off Ebay. These came prewelded but as I expected, t...

Re: PCV breather box replacment pdf/slide show

Just my 0.00002c but I really don't like those worm clamps on the PCV. When I did my PCV, I put a worm clamp - and it was actually the Volvo kind which is less prone to loosen by itself, and when I drove the car the worm clamp got slack and the PCV hose popped off. Lots of fun trying to push that ho...

Re: PCV Replacement HELP!

The B appears to be the fuel line connection, may find a detail here - be careful when releasing the pressure especially if the engine is still warm (not recommended) wear eye protection and some black rubber gloves www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv7O8xHUiFc The A looks like the pressure power steering lin...

Re: Control arm - Is there a safe way to force it?

I see what you mean. The end link actually keeps the strut from being aligned - or easy to align, it forces it to rotate like in the picture So it helps to detach the link, however with the link detached the strut will not move upwards - rather it may even move lower than it's now, because when the ...

Re: digital odometer 2006 v70

Very good post, but I would be afraid to share this on Internet, it will give ideas to some dishonest people about how to falsify the mileage.

Re: Fuel filler door won't unlock

Are you sure there's no small 'manual' tab at the actuator ? (may look with a flash light) Fcpeuro lists the same part from 2001 on https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-fuel-door-lock-solenoid-s60-v70-xc70-s80-xc90-genuine-volvo-30612856#fitment Junkyard ones are perfectly OK to try, however this ...

Re: Control arm - Is there a safe way to force it?

Just careful not to let the spindle hung free and pull on the CV joint - the outer CV joint may dismantle inside and be tricky to be put back in place
