Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!
Congrats and welcome on the forum. Manual transmissions fail at the slave cylinder (transmission has to come out) but at 170k I suspect it was already replaced unless the car has mostly highway miles. These transmissions are rare and quite a treat on these cars even with the N/A (I actually prefer t...

Re: Spun Rod Bearing
These engines rarely fail, therefore perhaps no such market for rebuilding them. Plus, the head work is troublesome compared with other engines. When these fail, it's either from a clogged and neglected PCV that caused sludge in the oil pan and ruined the rod bearings, either from a failed pulley/be...

Re: 2008 S60 2.5T are these good?
The later S60 (before the new model) were the better with several problems sorted. However there have been complains about expensive failures at the throttle body and ABS system. It looks like is rather uncommon but it may happen. Other than that, yes a new timing belt is due but this is not very ex...

Re: 2008 S60 2.5T are these good?
The oil problem is the PCV. But it should not be a concern before 50K miles and synth oil helps. The S80 had the best seats, unsurpassed and the best for tall guys as well. The rolling couch!

Re: Finding a 0-60 app is proving difficult
Torque or Piston (I prefer Piston)
Strongly advise the newer ELM with wi-fi for 10 little bucks, the old ones with bluetooth had big connection issues

Re: Only warm heat when heater on high.
Hello Have you already replaced the thermostat? At 130k it's more than time for it. Here's how to verify if it got stuck open (even just partially) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQxQnuU22Ow The heater core can trap air inside https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ih4HXWrKb_w The heater core may also cra...

Re: DIY Ball Joint Installation Tool
I believe the freezer sits at -20C (-5F) while some parts of Canada/Alaska get -35C (-30F) in winter, advantage C/A :( I also did clean really well the hole from all corrosion with a wire brush on a electric drill and put some high pressure grease in it. Still had to to punch a bit the ball joint in...

Re: Moisture in headlights
Had this years ago on the S60. Removed the plastic trim piece that runs on top of the seam between the glass and the housing, and put some outdoors silicone all along this seam. Stayed clear ever since.

Re: P2 2001 V70 T5 Sudden Massive Electrical Failure
This doesn't look like a CEM to me, at least not a typical one. Usually it won't affect the radio. Undoing a battery post looks like it's resetting everything so a module may act up, such as an immobilizer and one potential cause would be power delivery to this module. Even just a bit of corrosion o...
