Re: ...try, try again.

I wonder why would someone replace the whole front end just before selling ? That could be either a good thing or a deal breaker, depending which brands they used: if it's the good ones, may meant they are the kind of people to spend on their cars so a good thing. Don't forget the throttle body and ...

Re: ...try, try again.

Black interior in the south could be a deal breaker, but I guess you could try heat-rejecting window film. Note: I have only read about this stuff. Never used it. Would be interesting to hear from those who may have actually used it I put 50% on my front and rear side windows. Volvo has already a t...

Re: 2006 2.5T battery draining overnight

You don't need to lock the doors for a drain test, just serial plug the multimeter to the battery, leave it on then wait 10 minutes. Pretty much everything shuts down - may want perhaps to remove the alarm siren fuse to be sure. Only my trunk lights refuse to go off at 10 min so I usually disconnect...

Re: Catastrophic failure

As above, now easy for us to get an idea from a distance, but I'm guessing the following scenario: the clogged PCV caused the cam seals to start leaking. The garage who did the repairs doesn't know these cars properly. They removed the old seals, and didn't put the new seals in correctly (very easy ...

Re: Catastrophic failure

Once the camshaft seals start leaking, they will keep even with a new PCV - also, some places don't replace all PCV components or forget to inspect the lower block hole. But if the garage also tried to replace the leaky camshaft seals and they didn't install them correctly, or used a cheap brand, th...

Re: 2004 Volvo XC70 Brake Lights Stuck On

Careful when removing/adjusting that switch, there is a video on yt. If my memory still works, the lower brake lights are controlled by the REM (google up) while the upper one is by the CEM Possibly there is a faulty relay in the REM, it appears to be RM15 or RSH6 https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/f...

Re: Is it true XC90 was rushed out the door and mechanically not as sound as other Volvos?

That is right about the 4 speed GM in the S80, very few complains. Perhaps the weight on the XC90 is what was going over the transmission specs. I've read Volvo really needed a top of the line powerful engine when the XC90 was launched, because the 2.5T (and the D5 in other markets) were pretty weak...

Re: Fuel rail pressure still too low AFTER replacing sensor, fuel pump, PEM and filter

We have indeed seen in-tank fuel hose kink, however you appear to say that direct power to the pump seems to solve the problem. Would suggest a fuel pressure gauge at the schrader valve to read the pressure live. The replacement PEM was used unit ? Always possible someone sold an already faulty one ...

Re: 2009 S60 keys won't turn in door lock - SOLVED (kinda)

Call a tow service - tell them the problem when calling, they should send you a guy that can open your door. Once inside you can pop the hood and jump start it. I hope for you you won't get an immobilizer message because it happens sometimes when the battery goes flat.
