Re: Rough start/no start after tranny flush & b4 servo
In my limited experience 2001- mid 2004 alternators had fast charging regulators and pump round 14.6v when the battery is more discharged (as mentioned above) until the battery gets topped, then drop at 13.7v for the systems and to keep the battery full. Post mid2004 regulators stay rather steady at...

Re: When is it necessary to "use new screws"?
As above, or in simpler words, any bolt that says "torque to xxx lb.ft then rotate xxx degrees". The rotation brings the bolt into plastic deformation. About 80% bolts on these cars are like this. Metals are elastic materials (at a very small scale). On most metals, the tightening torque c...

Re: Installing New Volvo S60 AC Compressor
So was the compressor actually more or less working? I'm just aware some shops may not be that honest. No new compressor is only a few hundred dollars, something is fishy with that quote. Unless it's some chinese junk or refurb compressor. Used genuine ones off Ebay are not much and should be reliab...

Re: Pressure/Temperature Sensor OR Fuel Pressure Sensor
See this site Fcpeuro
Check their fitting section
Most sensors are either for turbo or for non turbo engines. When the number is different it may be because these fit only on some engines so may have a different bracket or bolt hole
Many engines didn't even had this sensor at all

Re: 04' V70 ABS problems, how to troubleshoot?
Can't speak for the steering sensor, but start with the easy checks first. Abs reluctor rings tend to crack when the CV joint is rusted underneath and is pushing on the ring. A tiny crack in the ring will fool the abs sensor. See the ring at 1:30 www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxC9Ek9HhGI The pulsating and...

Re: Replacing 2004 V70 Power Steering Reservoir with 05?
The 30665496 had an issue with a piece detaching inside. The 30645621 is the latest design and will do but you'll need its rubber hose to the pump as well because the two hoses are pretty different in shape. If you get a new 30665496 there should be no problem with it.

Re: New England Winter for a Desert Volvo?
Basic road safety 101 is keep the best tyres in the rear so the car doesn't unexpectedly oversteer, especially if braking hard. Each to his or her own but it's really terrible and dangerous advice to give someone else. As I said, I have never had a problem nor noticed a difference. Terrible and dan...

Re: Suspension parts
I had bad experience with the Lemforder ca bushings sold in separate boxes... but maybe what they put in the ca sold as a unit is better quality.. how knows. These days the market is moving a lot with suppliers changes. Only long term will tell.. On the other side the IPD HD arm seems to be holding ...

Re: Suspension parts
@ bepilot I think people have problems with the parking sensor mostly because the way it's installed - it has to stay on a vertical surface, away from metal parts, the module as well has to stay a few inches away from any metal. I have a Volvo owner mentioning on the video he just got it installed a...
