Re: How do we know our airbags still work on 1998 or so?
Someone pulled an illegal left out of a gas station in front of my old 1998 S70 NA with 260k roughly on the dash. Was a rainy day and brakes with ABS wasn't enough to stop in time. Hit the corolla going about 20-30 mph? Really good impact that totaled both cars, and all the airbags went off fine. We...

Re: 96 850 N/A no start issue.
Similar no start situation left me stranded last week in the work parking lot. Car would turn over, no ignition. I travel with an OBD2 reader and it showed a P0340, camshaft system failure, which made me believe it was just the sensor. I wiggled the wires around, nothing happened on another turnkey....

Re: 2000 S70 immobilizer bypass?
Aleksi, I think you're saying you programmed a 4th key for a 2005 C70. Where did you get the key and did it come with the PIN? I made myself chip from blank with my own tools and did read PIN. I do it for fun price 30eur + how many chips for people locally. I can make chips what IMMO accepts direct...

Re: Simple Volvo Tweeter Modification
. Kind of shocked that Volvo would treat the tweeters as full range speakers. Never worked on the Volvo audio system but are there provisions for wires in the head unit for tweeters only or in the amp. Perhaps it’s done at the circuit level already? They should have been blown years ago if that muc...

Re: Gasket test results :) :)
my bad on the threads. they say to put in the tester, start the engine and let it come up to temperature (10 minutes or so -- 206F I think it was) and it stayed blue the whole time. anyway -- 297 bucks (wtf?) to replace thermostat at Midas 1.8 hours labor which is nonsense. will try again to replace...

Re: DIY Rear Brake Dust Shield Gasket for FWD p80 v70, S70, 850, etc (PN# 3546275)
Never worked on the back end more than replacing brake pads. Based on the effort required to get to these is it worth it to pull the shields and gasket from a salvage yard? Getting the rear dust shields off requires removing the wheel bearing... so you're looking at pulling the wheel-> caliper -> r...

Re: Volvo wiring diagrams ...where to find.... (update DEC 2021)
Here is the Component List for my '99 S70. I don't imagine the 00-04 cars are a lot different. I suspect the component numbering is probably an ISO standard like relay terminal numbering, but I haven't been able to verify. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1INo8FSBpj64CMqNG44EHIZDWneIMItAZ?usp=...

Re: Anybody in the RTP, NC area with VIDA/DICE?
My 2000 S70 GLT SE has the SRS light on. I have 3 scanners that all say left side impact sensor intermittant fault - DTC SRS-606. I've replaced the sensor, checked the wiring, and swapped with the right side sensor. Still won't clear. I called a local Volvo indi and he said Volvo limits VIDA/DICE i...

Re: puzzling problem. Loss of power, rough idle
Rough Idle after Timing Belt change and Solution I just did my timing belt change on a Volvo C30 P1 2.4i exactly following the videos on fcpeuro and mtl carguy. I got my timing belt perfectly lined up with all timing marks lined up even after 2 sets of turning the crankshaft manually. I also used th...
