Re: ...try, try again.
Also, take advantage of FCP's parts guarantee. For example, I've done 3 timing belt (et.al) changes on our 290k XC70 and I only paid for the first set of parts. Very nice!

Re: ...try, try again.
That’s actually not true. Some had them, some didn’t. My 2004 XC, 2004 V70 AWD both have them yet my 2004 V70R does not. I’ve never checked my 2001 XC.

Re: Starbucks,s Awesome 2004 XC70 buy!
The XC arms are easier than the V70/S60 shorter arms to press new bushings into. However...it is easier yet to just put in new arms w/bushings already installed. You need to get the bushings “clocked” exactly right and also set to the correct depth in their respective holes. I debated on saving the ...

Re: Starbucks,s Awesome 2004 XC70 buy!
There’s no need to use/buy the special ball joint tool. I have one you can use for free (shipping) if you really want to give it a whirl. Personally I think it’s easier & faster to just put the control arm in a vise and use a large socket to tap the ball joint into the CA. Obviously you’ll want ...

Re: FDPP #2
Turns out I was wrong. 8667253 A. Does have spring, spring seat is good, top bearing plate is good. I don’t know what shipping will run you, but you can have it (and the LSM) for the cost of shipping. Guys, I'm sorry I didn't read this through. I missed this post entirely. Pete, I sent you $45 on P...

Re: FDPP #2
My pleasure!
That’s only on the higher end models. It is only to be used once your fuel light comes on. It transfers an imaginary 5 gallons from your auxiliary fuel tank to your primary.
It just unlocks the fuel door.

Re: brake bleed nipples
That’s been my experience with broken bleeders too - cracks off just below the hex. So long as it’s not oozing brake fluid you should be able to shoot your wire through the nut and then just build it up and fill it in. Don’t let it cool, try to back it out while it’s still hot. The big downfall is i...

Re: FDPP #2
I saw that too. It’s packed pretty darn well in a box that an actual strut came in. I think it’s integrity will be preserved. I also had a USPS package that was supposed to arrive today that is delayed. I have noticed shipments taken a day or so longer than expected.

Re: Moving to Stage 1
Good shopping list, but don’t forget a downpipe. You’ll notice more oomph per dollar with a downpipe vs only exhaust. Obviously the two paired together make for a nice increase. Definitely shop for ECU tunes first before throwing hard parts at the car. If you do a DP and exhaust just know that it wi...

Re: FDPP #2
The top plate was not bent before I put it in the box. If the box isn’t obviously damaged, you can assume that the top plate is fine. The plate does have sort of a domed shape to it. No, the studs do not all point perfectly vertically. This is normal.
