This is a Thanks to FCP Euro

This is a post to recognise FCP Euro and their support of MVS. That support is a source which allows me to not only to simply have the site, but to spend time making its availability (uptime) high, and its speed (page load times) fast, among other things. https://s3.amazonaws.com/images.matthewsvolv...

Re: Volvo P2 used market

320 P2's within a 500 mile radius. That's good. A breakdown by years would be revealing. Example: I've noticed that the "money and brains" people are more prone to selling off their pre-2004 P2's. I've benefited from these automotive websites. You can compare and arrange them by usability....

Re: Volvo P2 used market

We are still in the Golden Era of the P80, despite Matts churlish attempt to elevate the P2 over the P80 the post count and viewership still make P80 the Volvo King (I made that up from the number of viewers 5 minutes ago) This forum brought me from dumping my T5 to now getting another 100k out of f...

Re: SK Says: Here’s Why Old Volvos Last Forever

Old Volvo lasts forever, because its owner has a Stockholm syndrome and, apparently, some decent cash in pockets.

$24k in parts in 7 years.

Re: 2.5T Oil pump bolts: sealant or none?

Googling around, it looks like Volvo bolt p/n 987348 has some white sealant on the threads closer to the head. I don't know, add some Loctite White (565)? Or buy new bolts ;)

Don't recognize that little guy. Not sure it's a part of our motor.

Re: 2.5T Oil pump bolts: sealant or none?

They should have copper washers. Sealant on underside of head would do. This is done as a surety measure in the even there is porosity or the casting allowed the drill and tap of the oil pump bolt holes to go through. The gasket would stop oil from passing across the back face of pump but do nothing...

Re: 2.5T VVT Hub/Adjuster Inner O-ring size

Yeah, The VVT cutaway anatomy is in the thread below, courtesy of jimmy57 . Your can see the gearing mechanisms. After millions of cycles of advance/retard, the gearing mechanism is loose. PS: The BMW Vanos system is actually better engineered. The Volvo VVT system is an offspring of the P80 timing ...

Re: Really silly sounding question

I have a few of these, they look nice, no rust, and are very easy to torque correctly
