Re: 06 XC70 Exhaust manifold leak question
The external wire wrap is to reinforce the accordion flex tube. It does have some internal pressure to contain. heat transfer is likely better without the wire wrap because of better air flow. The wire wrap must not be very necessary for pressure, if the originals survive without the wire. The SC gu...

Re: Turn off DRL headlights pay $$$ or buy VIDA/DICE
Guys, sorry for my "French", but yours messages confused me )) What are you discussing about? Lets separate all terms and options: 1. First at all there is configuration file in the car. When modules communicate between each other they use this configuration info for understand how to work...

Re: Bevel Gear Adjuster Nut Leak?
I think "Barr" is a reference to stop leak products. The tabs on that end cap/adjuster are fragile so no drift and hammer use here. There is a special tool disc with 1/2 square drive and a series of roll pins drive in that engage the tabs The leak in salt country can be due to corrosion wh...

Re: P2 lift kit and engine wire harness
I got the kit from FCP in a hope for the lifetime warranty, in case I need it at some point in the future ;) TascaParts is the cheapest, I think. You need a pair of 30681745 and 8666292. Real conversion kit also includes its own 19 mm thick rear stabilizer bar, which I decided to omit, since the car...

Re: Bevel Gear Adjuster Nut Leak?
Thought I'd post an update regarding my bevel gear leak. Been driving for a couple days and I no longer have oil in the driveway. Although I replaced both RF axel seals and the adjuster nut o-ring, I'm convinced it was just the o-ring. However since I was in there I suppose it was a good idea to rep...

Re: Valet Key Programming with VIDA/DICE
Looks, like I have to start special post a'bout "how it works". ))) Because we have a lot customers, who ask us about "key program service", but they do not know about car history... There are many codes (include encrypted sync/key/immo/configuration codes) affect on starting. If...

Re: 2001 V70XC - 200,000 Miles Makeover
Once I broke my DIY 1/8" mild steel cam lock tool and thus applied the full force required to torque the camshaft bolt onto valves and piston - nothing bad happened, besides -$140 for the forged steel lock tool :) Nothing to worry about at all if your cam/crank setup moved or even piston touche...

Re: This summer, used Volvo prices will go...
Mom shut down a group of whiners about how choices were limited at the supermarket today.
In her best Queens english....

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
Our 03 S80 T6 has the wheels in the link. I think the Neptunes have 67.1mm center bore vs 65.1mm. Could get a ring to convert over. Which do you think looks better? Nine spokes: Aquaris, Interceptor & Sentinal are the only three I can come up with. Take one wheel off and get the Volvo part numb...

Re: Rear Shocks. Can't access upper mount bolts. Misaligned
There honestly is no way around that. Cutting into your trunk metal will accomplish nothing as you will still need to remove the entire strut to replace the shock. It truly would be impossible to use the cars weight as a spring compressor to get the strut/shock out. Cutting the metal would just add...
