Re: Heater Core blew during full throttle. Headgasket leaky?

Volvo water pumps (like all water pumps I know) are centrifugal pumps. The faster they turn the more flow they make. With normal restrictions in the system, they will make more pressure at higher speed. Sooner or later, the weak point will leak at full engine speed.

Re: Engine wiring harness separate, or combined with the rest of the wiring?

In my experience, you need to get wire loom and tape with high temperature rating - 300 F is best. Super 88 3M tape is good.

Re: Hydroplaned into a tree with the love of my life. The consensus is this is totaled. Can I get a second opinion?

If you can do the repair yourself, it looks to be worth doing. If you have to pay others, then may not be practical

Re: Engine wiring harness separate, or combined with the rest of the wiring?

No, fixing the wire loom on the coils or injectors is not much trouble. What took many hours was uncovering every wire under the hood and replacing their wire loom. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Presenting Everyday Carry video (YT) of my mint Volvo

The British language may say rubbers for rubber bands or for waterproof boots. They may also call waterproof boots wellies (short for wellingtons, which I think was a brand name. Apologies to our British cousins if I got any of this wrong. volvolugnut My good man, rubbers over here most certainly d...

Re: Exhaust pipe not fitting to turbo

Go to a local muffler shop and have them bend and weld in the spacer section you need? Not sure what is needed or why, but a muffler shop can do this.

Re: Penzoil Synthetic from natural gas

smoggyama, I would suggest counting fuel gallons at the pump. Assume some reasonable MPG and calculate estimated miles driven.
