Volvo water pumps (like all water pumps I know) are centrifugal pumps. The faster they turn the more flow they make. With normal restrictions in the system, they will make more pressure at higher speed. Sooner or later, the weak point will leak at full engine speed.

In my experience, you need to get wire loom and tape with high temperature rating - 300 F is best. Super 88 3M tape is good.

If you can do the repair yourself, it looks to be worth doing. If you have to pay others, then may not be practical

IPD has the high temp wire loom in the proper size for the coil wires and injectors. In standard black color. It last several years maybe. The standard wire loom may last a year. Just tape does not have the temperature rating and may not provide a insulating barrier to the wires. If you need larger ...

No, fixing the wire loom on the coils or injectors is not much trouble. What took many hours was uncovering every wire under the hood and replacing their wire loom. Sorry for the confusion.

Go to a local muffler shop and have them bend and weld in the spacer section you need? Not sure what is needed or why, but a muffler shop can do this.
