Re: How to replace lower motor mount?
Use good sense for the board - 2 x 4 or 3/4 plywood. Don't try with thin plywood or OSB panel. You want the board stiff enough not to flex and allow a high load in the center of the pan. Get a board long enough to span the width of the pan.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
My P2 afternoon yesterday - My wife bopped in the door saying the car had quit on the way home, "All the dash lights came on!" Luckily not out in traffic, on a side street. Great, I thought, here goes Mr Electrical Issues Expert (NOT) to figure it out. Walked to the car, tried to start, s...

Re: 98 S70 upper radiator hose

You may also have a head gasket problem allowing exhaust gas pressure in to the coolant system. You could modify an old coolant cap to add a gauge for the coo...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
You can empty some/most? fuel tanks using a small tube into the fuel filler tube. The tube must be about 3/8 inch or smaller to get it worked past the anti syphon flapper in the tube. If it gets stuck, twist, push and pull to work it loose. A hard nylon tube has worked best for me. Soft rubber will ...

Re: Water in Transmission
I do not see that anyone mentioned the likely cause of coolant in your transmission. Most likely the transmission oil cooler has a leak between trans fluid and coolant. This must be fixed before any other fix is attempted.

Re: Water in Transmission
I replaced the radiator last night, and then flushed 24 quarts of fluid through the transmission, 3 quarts at a time. New radiator should fix the leak of coolant into trans fluid. volvolugnut Except his transmission is as good as dead. Enough clutch material must have separated to have clogged his ...
