Re: FDPP #2
It is not too difficult and MVS can talk you through the process. You will need to borrow/rent a suitable spring compressor. If measurement is kept before and after replacement, alignment may not be needed. Anyone in OHIO that can help with spring compressor? Let's see what help pops up here. Anyone...

Re: FDPP #2
Check the boot condition. Torn? Wet with shock oil? Push the boot up and see if you can see the yellow bump stop. Is the bump stop crumbling? If you can get both front wheels off the ground, check if the pivot bearing plate (at the top with the three small bolts) feels rough as you move the wheel si...

Re: FDPP #2
I haven't had a chance to pull the wheel off and check everything that's been suggested yet. Should I just go ahead and pull the strut assembly out and give it a good look over, or is it something that can still be done with it on the car? Just curious, volvolugnut, where are you located? If you ta...

Re: FDPP #2
gnalan, I check the struts this morning and they are not very good. Very minimal resistance to motion in up and down. I don't think you would gain much using these struts. Sorry to get your hopes up.
Someone else have a decent strut?

Re: A/C Expectations
I've been having a good time pointing my IR thermometer at my "new" 1993 wagon's middle vents when the A/C is on. With 100-degree outside temperatures I'm getting high-40s and low-50s on fan speed 3. A little warmer with fan speed 4. I don't have fan speeds 1 and 2. You know why. I'm work...

Re: The first car to drive itself may surprise you!
I had a 1976 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with 454 V8 for a while in the 1980's. Very smooth ride. Very poor gas mileage.

Re: FDPP #2
We may need to expand the area to draw from for a used spring/strut assembly. These can ship reasonably.
Anyone have one?

I had purchased new a 1980 Dodge Colt (4 cylinder with 4 speed and weird 2 speed high /low range). In 1982 I drove i...
