Phil, Regarding my 1938 Ford: It is still all original in very used condition. It has original small Ford V8 engine with valves in the block and a flat head. I hope to restore it at some time to all original condition, but time is getting away from me. It does have a blank plate in the dash for a ra...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I don't see that anyone suggested using a 'Left Hand' drill bit which will help to reverse the broken stud when the bit cuts. These are generally available where broken bolt extractors are sold.

Re: 850 Petrol part on fuel line

My 1975 245 had a similar looking part that rusted out soon after I purchased the car about 1990. The replacement came from Volvo dealer and was called pressure damper.

Re: Replacing the engine wiring harness 1993 850

I replaced the engine harness on my 1983 240 many years ago. I tried to work from one end to the other as much as that is possible. Do a good wash down before you start. Re: 67 P220 eletrical issue

122sPhil, Thanks for all of your comments on older Volvos. There are fewer and fewer knowledgeable people on the oldies and you have many practical suggestions.

Re: Preventive Maintenance Recommendations

Alternator brushes, Thermostat, coil, rotor and cap, brake pads and hoses, brake flush, bulbs if you don't want to worry about them failing while driving.

Re: What have i missed? Bromsfel Stanna Omgående

It may be your DIM is failing. The only other issue as the symptoms like speedo dropping out could be the DIM is failing with age and temperature which is not uncommon at this age. The speedo can also drop out because of ABS issues, but then I'd expect the ABS light to come on. Apologies, but my No...
