Re: Get your flu vaccine , Winter 2025
Flu cases are at 25 year highs. It still isn’t too late to get the jab, barring a small number of medical reasons not to ( you know if you have one of those conditions)

Re: What is your next Volvo?
I'm going for a 2047 V700XC Hovercraft edition, with the sought after Star Trek "Beam Me Up" transducer option. It will have really nice wheels (but they're only for show). ...Semi-serious answer: If you have the means, I think the newer V60 wagons are nice. I think they're all going to be...

Re: Helppppppppp !!!!!!---Totally Stumped on Engine Misfire
The coils don't like old spark plugs because the energy necessary to bridge the gap increases as the spark plugs wear and the gap gets bigger. At minimum check the spark plug gaps. Is your car turbo or non-turbo? The non-turbo factory Beru plugs start to deteriorate a lot at 30,000 miles. They can b...

Re: EX60 Revealed: Volvo's New 400-Mile Range EV
400 is a lot of miles range for an EV, yes. And 670hp is downright monstrous. In the wrong hands this is a 5k pound 670hp Missile of Doom™. Good thing Volvo customers are about as right hands as they come

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Today I got most of the small details completed on the Camshaft seal replacement and other maintenance on my 2001 V70 T5. I turn the key and it started with no new codes (just the normal evap system code). I am very proud. volvolugnut This happens every time you come prepared, pay attention to deta...

Re: EX60 Revealed: Volvo's New 400-Mile Range EV
EVs are just a fad, they will never take. Norway has an amazing set of really quiet gas cars which will keep this from happening.

Re: I'm waiting for this... (solar power system)
Taking my Nevada example, we could power Las Vegas and all of California from Nevada (or even from desert California of which there is plenty), and not have to run thousands of miles of transmission to say NYC. Washington state, and I suspect Oregon also, run mostly on hydroelectric, so no worries t...

Re: I'm waiting for this... (solar power system)
To be fair, we should count all solar/wind/hydro/natgas/coal/oil production and maintenance deaths. I think that number is going to be 3 or 4 digits, since 1950. Even if we adjust for nuclear's % of energy it's still a large disparity. Now imagine what the safety disparity would be with 2020s reacto...

Re: I'm waiting for this... (solar power system)
Thanks for bringing this full circle back to cars, VLN. I guess my biggest thought when you mentioned quality of the 20th Century is my grandfather. He was a jet airliner mechanic (electric systems, Frontier Airlines and Continental before that) until around 1980 when he retired. Born 1912, no colle...
