Re: Flare Nut Wrench Sizes Needed
It seems a set is priced at less than the individual pricing for 3 or 4 wrenches. If you expect to have other vehicles in your fleet in the future you will need other sizes. They can also be used for nuts or bolts that are in danger of rounding off, but you don't have a closed end wrench of 6 points...

Re: Flare Nut Wrench Sizes Needed
What size flare nut wrenches do we need for these cars? Mine are 1998 and 1999. I need to get a proper set. Any brand suggestions that are not at MAC prices? I know fit and sizing are critical. In online reviews, someone always trashes every brand while others say it's great. My best route might be...

Re: What non-OEM axles are any good?
For inner CV boot use GKN 300597. It was figured out by Northernlights and posted here https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=332235. I've done at least 6 inner boots with this part, turbo and non-turbo alike. After the Northernlights post the axle boot posts on MVS exploded and th...

Re: Re-Using Strut Hardware/Fasteners?
Bolts checking for stretching, need 2 same (cylinder head bolts on the photos as an example).
Bolts at 1st pic can be re-used, at 2nd pic are for garden trolley only.

Re: From 1998 to 1999: CV axles changed?
Two types of axles:with fixating in the hub by big nut or by M10 bolt. These types are NOT interchangeable. Two sorts in each type: for NA and for turbo cars. NA joints are smaller. These sorts (in a corresponding type) are interchangeable. You can use turbo axles on a NA car, they will be more reli...

Re: "Mea culpa" means "through my fault" in Latin...
Speaking for myself, I also find that sometimes I jump before checking things out more thoroughly. I think it's something related to being human.

Re: "Mea culpa" means "through my fault" in Latin...
Wikipedia: Mea culpa, which means "through my fault" in Latin, comes from a prayer of confession in the Catholic Church. Said by itself, it's an exclamation of apology or remorse that is used to mean "It was my fault" or "I apologize." I feel as though I ought to apolo...

Is this a stock color?
Is this lovely blue a stock color for a V70? What's its code and name? That's too light for Nautic Blue but too dark for Laser Blue. Spotted it on the Massachusetts coast on the same day that I saw a faded red 850R wagon full of tools and spare parts.

Re: 960 to 940 hood direct exchange?
No. 940 has a cowl with slits and wipers going through it.
960 is smooth all the way back.

Re: P80 Rear Suspension Noises...
* Difficult to know what clunk means but could be the shock dust shield bumping against shock body if it is shielded in that way. The 19 Altas we used to own, brother's now, had a clucking noise from the right suspension. Forum members said dealers were replacing mounts to entire strut assemblies bu...
