Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
Someone asked my opinion on this one but I don't know RWD cars at all. I know it's overpriced but other thoughts? https://volvonly.com/vehicle/1993-volvo-940-turbo/ L1040634-scaled.jpg Very nice 940T, but that price is really high for a 9. That car definitely doesn't look like it's worth $5,400 mor...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I think the belt PN depends on the tensioner style. If you have a hydraulic tensioner, go ahead and order the older style kit.
Wow, those headlights look brand new!

Re: Financial Distress Parts Pool
This is awesome, Matt! I'm always at the junkyard, so feel free to give me a shout if there's anything that I can get for anyone. There is a decent supply of Volvo here right now, but inventory changes every day.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Looks to be within spec, about that mine was set to. Bad alignments are so frustrating! If I'm going to bring my car to you and pay for an alignment, you better do it right the first time! Most shops don't believe in that though.

Re: FDPP #2
Most auto stores will rent out spring compressors for reasonably cheap. They are pretty easy to use, but take safety precautions. Point away from you and others, wear safety glasses, and work slowly. Then there's the Harbor Freight route, I've had mine for over 4 years and they've been great. I make...

Re: FDPP #2
You should at least be able to see the spring seat just by looking at it with the wheel off.

Re: FDPP #2
Yes, that’s the correct way to do this. You need to remove the strut assembly from the car to disassemble it.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Swapped the head on my 940 today. I just put an iPd turbo cam in this refreshed head (came with my 240, straight from the machine shop!) and adjusted the valves. Since I've had low compression on cylinder 1 and it's been idling like crap since I bought it, I went ahead and tore into it. Plus it star...

Re: FDPP #2
I don’t think it will be a problem. Worse comes to worst, you can swap your original spring over to this strut. The struts should all be the same, it’s the springs that are different. How different? Probably not much.

Re: FDPP #2
Travel is likely the same, it's probably just a little stiffer. I know for the XC90, for example, they just superseded the standard strut with the sport version. The fact that they did that shows that there likely isn't a huge difference in the PNs. Especially considering that it's used, it should m...
