Re: Restoration: I Bought the Cheapest Running 98 V70 T5M (2023)
Yep, a lot of these water pumps are like that. No idea why, but it's normal. The car doesn't look too bad! Definitely needs some interior parts, but nothing crazy. That stuff shouldn't be TOO hard to source, but it won't be too easy to remove all the plastic without it shattering into a million piec...

Right, I've never seen a P80 that didn't have them. Check your hinges, you should have these tabs that you can rotate.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
10 years is about the service life of the timing belt. I wouldn't consider it extremely urgent, but I would recommend putting it on the list.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Plus one on the belt, Robert uses ten years as his benchmark as well. He only replaces the water pump every second belt job on his fleet - I think his Driver has north of 450k on it now. Take a hard look at the repair ticket, make sure the tensioner and roller were quality parts back then. Yup, thi...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
Dallas Craigslist has a beautiful 1987 740 GLE 192K white with black leather interior. I can't figure out how to find the screen shot button on the updated Android. Otherwise I would post a picture. At under $5,000 it might be worth a look. June Long time no see, hope you've been well! Would this b...

Re: 96 850 Time for Struts and Shocks, what's good now?
I have the Koni STR.T struts on my V70R, and the ride isn't excessively harsh. That said, I also have iPd springs on my car, so the ride is certainly more stiff due to those. With stock springs, they should be comfortable from what I've read. That Koni number appears to be for yellow sports, which w...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Hey, if it works, go for it! Sometimes you just need to keep the car going until you have the time to fix it right. I never recommend these snake oil solutions, but occasionally they do the job without causing further damage.
