Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Check the plug on your cam position sensor, it should be a yellow plug clipped into a bracket below the distributor. They have a tendency to crumble into sections, it happened on my car (being a good car, it happened in the driveway). Got home after an uneventful drive, car wouldn't start right whe...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Somewhere on the webs is a fully loaded 747 rejecting a takeoff at v1 and only using brakes to stop. To pass the FARS you aren’t allowed a brake fire for at least one minute , but all the tires lost their melt plugs and deflated slowly. We weren’t that close to V1 and had full reverse thrust of cou...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Some comments on the current topics… AT-205 is a great product with little worry about it messing anything up. I used it in a Ford 302 in my old Mountaineer and it slowed the oil leaks, but did not stop them. This truck had a bad oil pan and RMS leak though, so that’s something to keep in mind in th...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Yikes, but backs up the point we have made on replacing these while in there or even preemptively at this age of the cars. Thanks for sharing that as it makes the point perfectly as to why to do it! Neil. That's why I posted it! I want to make sure others know that these seals are probably in bad s...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
. GOING, GOING GONE in a few hours. Here is an interesting one but you have to use one of their Brokers unless you're a dealer or dismantler. Auction is in the morning. If the AWD breaks will using just the FWD be similar in terms maintenance as a reg FWD? Selling Branch: Central New Jersey (NJ) 20...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Stepped into the car and heard a splash. Driver's side front and rear footwells were both standing water. It's been sitting for about a week, and in that time we've had a couple of typhoons. No sunroof so I suspect the rear corner of the driver's door gasket which has let in a few drops before. Pul...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
For today, the clutch, pressure plate and transmission are now installed! Cables in place and shifter installed. Question about the clutch cables coming out of the firewall, do they pass to the left or right of the steering column as you are looking at the firewall? Nicely done! I can't remember ex...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Those Swedish pipe wrenches are a life saver. Harbor Freight carries them in their Icon brand now, and while they're okay, the fast adjustment button SUCKS. Lets them slip way too easily. Bahco is top tier for those.
