Interested in a leather shift knob? This one is gray from a C70.
The button works fine, just the usual cracking.

Re: Hard start XC90 v8
That's an alternator writeup. For the starter, I believe it's accessed from above. It's located below the throttle body, I think you need to remove a couple coolant lines and possible the throttle body to access it.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)
There are pass-throughs on the firewall on the driver and passenger sides. If you look under the main fuse box (may need to remove it), you'll see a piece of corrugated hose with a rubber piece on the end with nipples that can be cut off to run wires/hoses. There is one located on the passenger/righ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)
Does the SC901 work in the 850s? I would rather like one but was under the impression it needed a bunch of additional pieces to get it working. Oh, and thanks for the brake line info! It does. All you need is a factory amp of your choice and the wiring harness for it. I used the 4x50 watt amp that ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)
It does. All you need is a factory amp of your choice and the wiring harness for it. I used the 4x50 watt amp that mounts under the passenger seat. You just need to run the wiring up through the console to the radio and plug it all in. Pretty easy job. Do you know if the amp also works with 'normal...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)
That's cool you're able to see that info online. Also that they won't totally fail you over small things like a tie rod. I know in some countries you need everything to be totally perfect! Here in NC, all they care is that your emissions equipment is in tact and working properly. Otherwise as long a...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)
So yesterday was one of those days... I really dislike repairing my own car. I brought it to the diy-garage and started to work on replacing the cv-boot on the right axle (the larger one). Everything went fine, untill I replaced the bolt securing the axle in the wheelhub. Workplace manual states th...

Re: B+ terminal repair - main fuse box
Knocked this out today. I used the NAPA lugs mentioned in the OP and 4x 10 AWG wire. It was pretty easy to run through the stock routing, fortunately. It seems to have taken care of the two codes I had related to the CEL and ETS light. All I need to figure out now is the whining ETM... but that's fo...

Re: DIY: Build your own positive battery cable for the 850
I used bob850's method today on my V70R and it's probably the cheapest and easiest solution! My original cable was very corroded just below the lug on the battery and it was so bad that the cable didn't flex at all for that first inch. I was able to get both the marine terminals as well as a 4 AWG 4...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky)
Found a perfect fender panel in the junkyard Monday. Does anyone know how to install the outer door trim? Does it just snap onto the plastic pieces or is it better to slide it on? Are you referring to the plastic trim that runs along the lower side? That should just snap into place, there are clips...
