Re: Robert DIY His car has been stolen
That's right, the toolbox! That just sucks.
I believe he's helping the owner of this car with a manual swap - it's not his.

Re: Yakazi instrument cluster: clock and temp gone
So today, while driving, suddenly my clock and temp gauge disappeared. the slot is still illuminated, but the digits are gone. Everything else works fine. It's in my 94 T5M with the Yakazi cluster with just clock and remp gauge, nothing else. Anyone any ideas? Check the back of the board. My guess ...

Re: Yakazi instrument cluster: clock and temp gone
Yazaki and VDO are not interchangeable according to MVS members. Don't see the reason why....since Yazaki from s,v,c,xc70 up to '99 is fully interchangeable with '96 & '97 850. You have OBDI diagnostic ports under the hood. Read the codes for the cluster. If you want to try a VDO,you will need t...

Quick Sunday Afternoon Tool Tip for tightening hose clamps on turbo outlet hose 31261370
Just a quick Sunday afternoon tip to report on a good tool combination that helped fix a small problem: A 1/4" drive miniature breaker bar with a 7mm socket is slim enough to fit into the tiny space around the turbo outlet hose. It makes it easier (though not easy for me at any rate) to tighten...

How to restore the drip moulding (and in praise of plastidip)
Seems like the coating on the drip mouldings (those strips above the doors, sometimes called roof trim) goes bad on all S70's. And Carlo, my new-to-me 1998 GLT, had a typical case of it: 20210202_192441.jpg But after about 2 hours of easy work both sides look like this: 20210204_165742.jpg I don't k...

Re: 855 tailgate harness and how to fix
I haven't had to tackle this particular job, but I have repaired a ton of jamb to door harnesses in a wide variety of vehicles. In my environment, the fix that you'll never have to touch again is replacing the portion of the harness that flexes with better wire. Be sure to go far enough beyond the f...

Re: 855 tailgate harness and how to fix
Combine the soldering and heatshrink steps by using solder sleeves. Massively simplifies things and you'll never look back. As for the method, I too would be interested in greater detail than most posts cover as I believe some of mine are going. Most posts just state to remove the d-pillar trim (so ...

Re: what is that?
This is the item I mean. But on inspection it cannot be correct, as the bracket is mounted higher than the luggage compartment.
