You can pretty much count o the evaporator being toasted in the p80s in these times. It’s a big dash out job but it’s stupid labor . Spread it out over a couple weekends so you have time to glue and fix the dash mounts too.
I’ve got room at stony brook garage , too

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
The carpet on the drivers side of my V70 had a hole worn through it (I still don't really know how or why, but I bought it like that). Bild_2024-07-07_223744637.png Since carpetry is not really my strength, it took some time to figure out a solution that is in the realm of my capabilities. So first ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Spent a chunk of yesterday and today writing up the P80 dashboard repair process I use. My wife kindly helped me today with some of the more 'advanced' document stuff so it is now posted for review and critique. I have more photos than those used in the write up so if anything needs clarified let me...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Slowly getting my exterior detailed after long neglect. Today I refinished the lower body cladding and door strips with boiled linseed oil. I’ve done this before and it looks great and lasts a LONG time. Only downside is it takes a long time to dry, so I stuck the car in the garage for the weekend. ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
That work on the trim looks awesome. Good to know that some natural products work so well. Shame on the V70R most of the plastics with the exception of the roof trims, is body colored. Neil. Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Today I have cleaned the engine bay. Nothing fancy, no plastic shine just good ol' soapy water and brush. The passenger side water drain hose was clogged all the way, lol. IMG_20240725_184447__01.jpg Other than that I have soldered in spare Relais' into my troubled IMMO Module per xanthefin's sugges...

Good candidate to buy and sell for Beryls Volvos at Niagara. I’m trying to get a Foundation setup for tax deductible donations but haven’t been home for three weeks for work.

Re: Brake caliper failures and how to prevent them
If you watch or subscribe to Napa feed, you can buy those recommended NAPA calipers at 20% off list on events occurring every 3-4 months, often centered on holidays They are running about $90 with core at NAPA right now, the fitment chart isn’t perfect, make sure you get single sliding pistons for A...
