I would call a dealer with your Vin# and engine number and see if they can tell you. From what you said you have covered all the usual haunts for the PEM

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
We do have a vida forum, those guys are the experts.
I bought vida on a thumb drive that has its own operating system, no need to fiddle around , once its set up you just plug it in and boot up.

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
I think that your fuel pump is likely done. Those 2 big wires on the connector to the plastic cap are 12v supply to the pump. I would spray a contact cleaner there and take a bulb from the headlight (any 2-4 amp light for load would do) and carefully connect it to the corresponding big wires. Make s...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
Let's do this- let's locate the fuel pump relay. My guess it will be under the hood to the left of the car next to the air cleaner box. The positive cable from trunk will be entering that box. Hopefully the owners manual book or the reverse of the plastic cover of that fuse/relay box will help us id...

I think you will have to bite the bullet and open that harness. Rodents will chew the insulation and even the metal of wiring. Moms Golf had steering angle sensing chewed right through

Moms Golf had steering angle sensing chewed right through I totally agree with above statement. However I would opt not to repair the old one. I would try one of 3 options:...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
Hard to tell at this point what is going on ... wrap all wires ... with addition of curse towards all rodents ... open the tank and inspect what is going on ... also remove the actual pump from its housing ... create emergency "defibrillator" ... Fingers crossed your issues are fixed. I w...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
I would spend the money on a vida set up before the pump, you can monitor the pump duty cycle. Direct power to the pump will (with a good pump) pressure readings 80 psi and beyond. It should be regulated by whatever system your uses. Pulling the pump for inspection, be aware it is connected to the s...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
I thought you replaced the relay with new up thread? I think you have narrowed it down to relay , wiring, or pump with the lack of fuel at the valve diagnostic on no-start. Vida won’t tell you much if the pump or relay are dying, it’s good for missing signals more that intermittent Your car will hav...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
Get a cheap $3 tire pressure gauge, the long one with the plastic piece that extends out, use it to read fuel pressure at the rail,
if you see 50+ psi the pump is good. Throw the pressure gauge away.
