Re: Headlight Switch Module Not Working, DIM is dark, and radio is dark. Why? Help!
Just to clarify, my thumbwheel nor any other part of my lsm works. Most of my dash lights went dim, radio display out, bright headlights won't stay on etc. Other people who posted similar symptoms said they had some success by changing the lsm. If all the functions controlled by the steering wheel ...

Re: My CEL saga - any ideas/help appreciated
Hmm. Here's a thought. VVT solenoids and the evap purge valve share +12V battery power through a relay and fuse. Relay is labeled as the engine management relay, Fuse nearby. Runs through the 14 pin Grey connector visible in the fuse box. Malfunctioning EVAP valve might also trigger the MAF code. Al...

Re: Volvo fuel door issues wont latch rant
I can appreciate the breakaway hinge design. But the hinge itself isn't what causes all the anguish. The little nubs that retain the tension spring need to be wider so that they don't break so easily. Same as retrofitting little screws as a repair, reinforcing this shouldn't interfere with the plast...

Re: My CEL saga - any ideas/help appreciated
Just to note: checking for problems with the cam solenoids and evap valve is just the place to start. If those are ok, it could be anything connected to the output of that relay causing trouble. As you have not indicated that it runs rough or has a miss, the injectors and coil packs are likely OK. T...

Re: Front LCA Rear bush by Bilstein/Febi
As outlined, I'm interested that FEBI strategically placed that 'purposely weakened ring' near the outside of the rubber. They wouldn't have done that without a reason. Likely worked out in computer modeling and/or physical stress testing. Another point of interest: the factory original rear bushes ...

Re: How important is safety to you?
When I bought the S60 safety wasn't foremost on my mind. Probably because just about anything would be better in this respect than the '95 Chrysler I had been driving. Once I became a Volvo owner I began noticing things... A video comparing crash tests of several MY2017 US-domestic muscle cars. [you...

Re: Front LCA Rear bush by Bilstein/Febi
Now for a little more information to chew on. When those rear bushes go bad it will drag down your highway econ by around 2-3MPG by my rough calculation. I had tweaked the front end toe settings to keep my MPG up to compensate for those bushes as they went bad over the course of winter. With the new...

Re: How important is safety to you?
Any time I come up on stopped traffic like that I get apprehensive that someone behind might not be paying attention. This (60-70mph flow comes up to abruptly stopped traffic) happens too often driving Chicago expressways in to/out of the downtown area. My previous car the center stop lamp was small...

Re: 2004 S60 2.5T- Timing belt tensioner wiggles while running
Whatever is causing the light misfire you mentioned is likely the culprit because varying inertia in the system will load the belt and make the tensioner wiggle with every miss. If you disconnect a fuel injector and observe the tensioner with a full tilt non-firing cylinder you should expect to obse...
