Re: Oil Transmission Filter.
It is a AW 30-40 electronically controlled transmission. To check fluid it should be driven to normal operating temperature, then stop on level surface, then put transmission in each gear for five seconds, then back to park and check fluid level. June

Re: Oil Transmission Filter.
You likely will have to use Dextron III as II might no longer be available and III is the replacement for II. I would not use the newest Dextron or multi vehicle fluid. Volvo still sells the Dextron III. My S80 has a Dextron III transmission. The dealer used BG Synthetic fluid and it disturbed the o...

Re: Oil Transmission Filter.
If it's Dextron II I don't see why not. I'm just surprised you can still get fluid labeled Dextron II/Mercon over there. It's been Dextron III over here since the 90s. Actually Dextron III is rare to find these days. Usually it's something that claims to cover Dextron and then other fluids. Types of...

Re: Oil Transmission Filter.
Smoking is odd. In non electronic transmissions there is a vacuum modulator valve that can go bad and pass fluid through the vacuum line into the engine. June

Re: Converting 2009 C30 to run on 30% Ethanol?
It likely will adjust itself for 30%. Reportedly they just reflash the computer to run ethanol in Brazil. Brazil runs a majority of vehicles on ethanol. You may want to add "Brazil" in your search. I wish my S80 was a flex fuel vehicle as it is cheap and plentiful here. E85 is around $1.40...

Well I have 21,753 miles to go! I hit 200K on the beltway in my S80 today. Probably next year before I get to 221,753 miles
. She still runs effortlessly down the highway! Hopefully she has another 200K in her... June

Re: Bad Turbo
If the oil feed line were to rupture I imagine that would do it. I believe it's part of pressurized system. Oil would certainly be everywhere! June

Re: The first car to drive itself may surprise you!
Looking at the commercials of US automobiles of my youth I realize why I absolutely love my S80 T6 so much. Here are some more commercials that show just how different the focus of the automotive buyer was. Smoother, quieter, bigger engines seems to have been the focus plus looking at classic cars i...

Re: How do you use a geartronic transmission?
Shift with rpm like a manual. You can upshift or downshift at any accelerator position. Once in Redline territory the computer will just cut the rpm not upshift like in automatic mode. I use the Geartronic feature in my S80 all the time. Doesn't seem to hurt anything to maintain higher rpm via lower...
