Re: Why a guy likes his 1985 740 GLE
My 740 puts a smile on my face too! I disagree with all that needless customization. To each their own. At least it's one more 740 saved from the scrap yard! June

Re: Good oil choice for the 2.3 red-block Penngrade 1 30W
Fine for you folk in southern climes, but it is going to be just above zero tonight up here - not sure a straight 30wt would allow a start tomorrow morning! They make 5W30 among other multi-grade offerings. Interestingly enough at 55° ambient temperature it poured easily. I expected it to be thicke...

Re: A easier way to replace transmission fluid
I see the convenience factor of using an external pump as a plus rather than dashing back and forth for the key, but I usually have another warm body home with us at school without a paycheck for a year. Anything less than awesome for June DIY isn’t fitting enough. We did the Gibbons method ( hose ...

Fuel pump relay question?
Here on MVS I have read 200, 700, and 900 series cars have known problems with the fuel pump relay. I did notice the in tank pump only runs a few seconds with each key cycle. Does anyone know if this is normal? Or do I have a problem? Do both pumps run continuously? Or just the main pump? Is the in ...

Re: Fuel pump relay question?

You can also lift the carpet in the trunk and test the current to the in tank pump. Your pump should ...

Re: Sachs shock absorbers and struts twin tube oil charged are a excellent choice for the 700 series
Today my friend and I drove the 740 on a 100-mile trip down highway 71. Almost immediately she mentioned the car felt different. Her exact words were "It feels like it's floating like a magic carpet" she is 72 and we don't discuss cars. We go antique hunting on Fridays. God as my witness, ...

Re: JDPower list of cars to avoid
The XC90 first couple of years have a slow clunky user interface. All models up to 2021 using the new 4 cylinder power train have multiple gear shift flair when using anything less than 93 octane fuel from the first drive off the lot. You will read over and over again in the reports about this. I ha...
